The Rise of Alexandria Cowan

Every program has athletes whose journey supersedes the box scores. For the Royals Elite Softball program, one of those athletes is Alexandria Cowan.

Alexandria came to the Royals at 14 years old, alongside her twin sister Gabrielle, with raw talent, quiet determination, and eyes wide open to what the future might hold. Over the years, she has grown into a poised and powerful presence — on the mound, in the classroom, and in life. Her journey is not just one of softball excellence, but a story of perseverance, growth, and self-discovery.

From Humble Beginnings to Elite Excellence

When Alexandria first joined the Royals, she was learning the ropes — not just of the game, but of herself. Through four years of development, setbacks, and personal victories, she has risen to become a cornerstone of the program. As a pitcher, she is fierce and focused, recently being named the #1 pitcher in her conference and finishing her senior year with 272 strikeouts, following up a junior season with 188. Though we don’t have the exact numbers from her freshman and sophomore campaigns, her career total is projected to be near 600 strikeouts — a true testament to her dominance in the circle.

She also ranks amongst the top 15 pitchers in Illinois for strikeouts, a reflection of not just talent but tireless work.

Scholar, Artist, Leader

Alexandria’s story goes far beyond the field. She graduated among the top 10% of all seniors in the state of Illinois, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA all eight semesters — one of only three students out of 450 at Bloom Township to do so. Her academic excellence earned her numerous honors, including:

  • Jennie Finch Empowerment Scholarship – Nike RBI
  • Dr. Albert and Nina Broder Scholarship
  • Suburban Service League Scholarship
  • Top 32,000 National Merit Scholar Recognition
  • Southland Athletic Conference All-Academic
  • Ruby Cofrin-Davis Female MVP Athletic Award
  • U.S. Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence

As a dedicated musician, Alexandria played in the Bloom High School band for all four years, balancing rehearsals and performances with practices and games — showing young athletes everywhere what true balance looks like.

A College Commitment and a Continued Climb

Alexandria recently committed to Grand View University, where she will continue her academic and athletic journey. Grand View isn’t just getting a skilled pitcher — they’re gaining a thoughtful leader, a determined student, and a person of the highest integrity.

She continues to compete with Royals Elite 18U in her final travel season, finishing what she started with the same passion she brought as a 14-year-old, now sharpened with experience and confidence.

More Than a Player

What makes Alexandria’s story unforgettable is not just the strikeouts or the awards — it’s the grace with which she has carried herself, the quiet leadership that lifted others, and the commitment to becoming the best version of herself.

From a shy teenager to a decorated scholar-athlete bound for college ball, Alexandria Cowan is proof that belief, hard work, and heart can build something beautiful. Her story is still being written — but what a chapter this one has been.

We’re proud to have been a part of your journey, Alexandria. Royals Forever!
